I say that this jacket/coat is vintage ‘cause I’ve had it for about 20 years. Despite this, it is in PERFECT or MINT condition. I remember how much I BEGGED my mom to get it for me. It’s the perfect combination of jacket and coat. Lined with grey sweatshirt, dark brown bomber-jacket-ish leather shell. Drawstring along the bottom so I could tighten it up, slightly. I used to think I was SO cool in this jacket. It made me feel like Amelia Earhart if you know, she lived in a major city in the late 20th century and listened to Hip Hop.
If I love it so much, why am I getting rid of this beauty?
Simply put, 20 years ago I was a bit of a tomboy. Translation, I wore my clothes REALLY baggy. Now that I’m a grown up, my style has changed, slightly, and there’s no room for super oversized gear in my life now. Believe me, I’ve tried and it ALWAYS looks like I’m impersonating someone or wearing a costume. If the jacket was just a size smaller, I wouldn’t even be writing this to you. Alas, that is not the case and so, here we are. I hate to see this go, but I’d rather know she’s with a good owner and getting a chance to be out and see the world instead of in some dark corner in my closet.
