Do not ever send a swap to a member when they have little or no tokens, you MUST get them to send their end to you first.

Tokens are so important!!

Even if they beg you and promise that they are trustworthy swappers, simply tell them that the rule for the site is that new members must send their end first.

I have noticed a few girls are being sucked in by pushy swappers who are wanting to post out at the same time, and sometimes our trusted long time members are being burn in the process.

yep, i suspected a recent "swaplifter" and luckily our swap didn't go through... here are some warning signals:

1) their pics are lifted off the web / they don't have their own pics
2) they have limited / vague / unclear descriptions of their items
3) they are pushy and demanding in their emails

good idea about sending the item first.. but what if u want their item and they dont want to swap so they ask u if u want to pay??? i think i have been burnt as i paid $40aus for shoes and since i sent the payment i havent heard a peep- no idea if shoes have been sent or whats going on and its been over 2 weeks now!!
so BRITTTTY ... send me the shoes!!!![/color]

Rianna, just block her email address or report her address as a spam address to your email provider, they'll have spam filters and should be able to add her email address to their spam filter settings or something. Or give us her email address and we'll all sign her up to receive spam from those dodgy internet websites

Did they make you send your end to them first?

O well..I don't have my pic on here either. People could just take a picture from another site and stick it on here and no one could tell the difference. So does it really matter?

Anyway.. Check out my trades if you have time.
I might be new but I've been on other sites before (Ebay ect.. )

I'm not really gonna make a big deal about the no tokens thing, yeah I look to see if they have tokens, but thats just a risk you have to take on sites like this. Yeah theres mean people out there who steal our stuff.
And thanks for telling me to watch out and all.
But even if I am really careful, who knows I could get stollen from still.

hi everyone!
another person to look out for is amelia_avossa! i almost swapped with her a month or so ago, but something didnt feel quite right. and i have just noticed that two swappers have had their items swaplifted by her recently! is there a way to take down these peoples profiles or have them banned from the site? i know they have bad tokens now, but can they just be deleted altogether? like 3 strikes and you're out? hehe. i also noticed that her first swap was with rianna jane, and it must have worked out fine - maybe she knew not to mess with you

first I want to say that sugarbear is nice, although we didn't swap, Ive talked with her via email, and she's quite nice.

secondly, I just want to say that it angers me when you ask people if they're interested in swapping with you and they don't reply. I understand that they might not be interested in anything that I have to offer, but still, can't they say so? I don't like sitting and wondering if the person with a cute bag, or shirt just isn't answering, of if they didn't get my message.

I have a good one! This guy with designer purses tried to swap but I found him trying to cheat me! Here is a great way to tell when dealing with designer handbags.

1) If its a designer brand and they mispell the name more than once
2) If the picture shows the tags, and the tag is held by a white plastic band, its not designer. Also, if the tag is only one strip. Designer bags have multiple tags usually, and folded two page tags. They are ALWAYS tied with thick woven string, and look nice.
3) If its a bag that is near impossible to get, chances are its a fake. He had a certain celebrity-favorite bag that has a waiting list, so I knew it was a fake.
4) If there is ANYTHING wrong with the stiching, like it looks cheap. Always request inside pics of the bag, so you can see if it looks shiny (fake cheap silk) or smooth (real).
5) Always ask for an identification code, something to verify it with. If you have one, you can check up with the designers website and call them to verify it.

If you need help, let me know! I don't want anyone to be roped into a bad swap!

the way to get tokens is when you swap, usually the person that swapped with you leaves you a token saying rather it was a good or bad swap.

Wow- it's so crazy that people will swaplift! :evil: It makes me so mad! grrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!! :twisted: :twisted: :twisted: People that swaplift take the fun out of it for the honest swappers!

Fortunately, I have had great experiences with many swappers, such as Monique, kittyheiress16, wild_chick1992, CocoCouture, Moodleso, StevieM, MeganZaBrunette, Mckena, and iheartgod118 (to name a few! lol). I agree that if someone agrees to a swap for sure, and then backs out, then that is not right. However, if it is not yet definite and they realize that for whatever reason they can no longer swap, then that is, while frustrating, not a huge offense---sometimes things come up. (and a sincere apology/explanation makes all the difference )

Also, totally agree with whoever said how annoying it is when people don't even respond to say "no thanks"---that drives me crazy! :x

yeah it really annoys me too when they dont reply i know it sounds rude to tell someone u didnt really see anything you wanted on their page but i think it is way ruder to just leave them hanging......JUST RESPOND BACK.....

I agree! I'm a new swapper and I'm still in my second swap but, I have offered both for me to send my item first. I would rather be swaplifted than be a swaplifter!
